Safety Coordinator

Summary

The San Jacinto River Authority is seeking to fill the position of Safety Coordinator.  This position is responsible for establishing and promoting the maintenance of a safe, accident-free, healthy work environment. This includes, but is not limited to development and maintenance of the Authority’s safety policies and procedures, employee communications regarding safety guidelines, and providing employee training in safe work practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a safety-related field from an accredited college or university and at least two to five years related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. 
  • Ability to work in basic databases in Microsoft Access; create and maintain spreadsheets and generate charts and graphs in Microsoft Excel; proficiently compose correspondence, forms, templates, and other documents using Microsoft Office Word; and create professional presentations in Microsoft Power Point.
  • Detailed planning and organization skills; great interpersonal skills; strong training and presentation skills; excellent oral and written communication skills at all levels of the organization; and a genuine passion for employee safety and health.
  • Ingenuity and expertise in working with others to understand and resolve challenges in the field as they relate to safety.

Water Operator 1

The San Jacinto River Authority, (SJRA), is accepting applications for an entry level Water Operator 1 position with a TCEQ Class D certification or the ability to obtain a TCEQ Class D certification within 6 months. Applicants must have a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of five years general work experience. The SJRA provides quality water supply service to The Woodlands, Texas and its surrounding environment.

Pay is competitive, and is commensurate with experience and certification level. The SJRA offers an outstanding benefits package and pays a license premium incentive for each level of operator certification obtained. The available positions are for day shift and the successful candidate will assist our Operations Team in all aspects of the daily operation of multiple groundwater treatment plants; including, but not limited to, sampling and analyses, data entry and interpretation, multiple well operations, as well as facility & equipment maintenance. Information Technology Systems Analyst 2

Summary

The San Jacinto River Authority is seeking to fill the position of Information Technology Systems Analyst 2.  This position is responsible for the functional and technical support of Dynamics GP and allied applications.  This includes documenting functionality and patch releases, as well as design, development, implementation, and support of all installed modules.  In addition, this position will be responsible for managing and coordinating with appropriate Authority staff to purchase, install, and implement all new enterprise application software to ensure compatibility with existing software and equipment as well as assure that the long term global needs of the Authority are met.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or related field and at least five years of related, post-college experience; or a verifiable equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of three years of experience working with Dynamics GP and a good understanding of Dynamics GP transactions upon the general ledger.  At least one year of the Dynamics GP experience should be with a current version of the software.
  • Experience with systems integration using eConnect and using Modifier with VBA.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong attention to detail, excellent oral and written communication skills at all levels of the organization, and a genuine commitment to quality and customer support.
  • Experience leading and/or working in cross-functional teams. 

Beneficial

  • Experience with Visual Studio Tools for GP, GP reports on SQL Server Reporting Services, Olympic Project Accounting software, and Kronos Timekeeping software.

Engineer IV

The San Jacinto River Authority is seeking to fill the position of Engineer IV in The Woodlands Division Office. The Engineer IV will plan, develop and implement water and wastewater infrastructure and facility improvements, administer professional services agreements with third party consultants, and oversee the development and administration of construction contracts.

A Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited program in the United States or equivalent approved by the Texas Board of Professional Engineers, a minimum of five years of practical experience in the planning, permitting, engineering, design, construction, repair, and rehabilitation of water and wastewater systems or an equivalent combination of education and experience with increasing management responsibilities is preferred. Experience and working knowledge of wastewater treatment facilities is a plus. Registration as a Professional Engineer in the state of Texas is required.

Practical working knowledge of all Microsoft Office, database and AutoCAD is preferred. This job requires attention to detail and good interpersonal skills including strong verbal and written communication skills.
